The Best DJ I Saw in 2024

Throughout 2024, I have seen 36 different DJs. I have been to two music festivals (EDC Las Vegas in May and Portola in September) and countless shows in Sacramento and San Francisco. I saw a variety of genres including techno, house, drum and bass, and even dubstep. My favorite genre is techno, by far. Let me walk you through my top sets of the year and then I will reveal the best⋆✧₊⁺⋆.˚ 

The top 6 (I couldn’t narrow it down to 5) DJs I saw are (in no particular order):

  • Sara Landry – saw her at EDC LV and Portola 
  • DJ Heartstring – saw them at EDC LV and Portola 
  • Panteros666 – saw him at EDC LV 
  • Worship – saw them at EDC LV 
  • VTSS – saw her at EDC LV and Portola 
  • HorsegiirL – saw her at 1015 Folsom St., SF, and Portola 
Sara Landry

Dubbed the high priestess of techno, has created an atmosphere unlike any other show I have been to. She played such rapid and deep techno it was entrancing. The second time I saw her was right before she dropped her album, Spiritual Driveby, and she debuted nearly every song from the album.  

DJ Heartstring

By far my favorite DJ. Every time I have seen them (3 times now), they have transported me to what I would refer to as a techno dream. They play such entrancing and dreamy music it makes me feel like I am floating. Such uplifting and dancey sounds.  

Panteros666

I probably vibed the hardest to this set at EDC. He brought such good energy while also keeping it very light and dancey. I was also like 10 feet from him so that made it a lot cooler.  

Worship

Seeing Worship at EDC as the sun was rising over the Las Vegas mountains has ingrained such a memory in my mind that I will never forget. This set put me onto how good drum and bass is as a genre. I was hooked on dnb for a good 3 weeks after seeing them.  

VTSS

I saw her around 3 am the second day of EDC and she brought such good energy. She played great big-room techno and curated a vibe both times I saw her. I remember dancing the entire time she was on both times.  

HorsegiirL

What an insane set! I have seen her twice now and both times it was the most insane chaotic energy. She brings an unhinged vibe, and I could not be more here for it. I have seen her at a club and at a festival and I’d have to say the festival was much better. She played a lot of harder techno and hard style.  

 

So, with all of that being said, the best DJ I saw in 2024 was ˚.⋆⁺₊✧⋆Sara Landry⋆✧₊⁺⋆.˚ Without a doubt, Sara Landry brought such intense energy. As an avid techno listener, she delivered everything I was hoping for. In the Sacramento area, there aren’t too many techno shows like that, so to see her live twice was everything I needed.
