As a student run organization KSSU is partially funded by the Sacramento State's Associated Student's Inc. For additional funding, we solicit donations in the form of underwriting from community businesses to further our educational experience and cover program production costs. Underwriting with KSSU allows the business to take a more active role in the well being of the local community while establishing their names and services among its residents. KSSU broadcasts on 1580am to approximately 28,000 Sacramento State Students and streams online at www.kssu.com to dedicated listeners in the greater Sacramento area and around the world.
KSSU Mission:::
KSSU's is a free format college radio station which is dedicated to providing Sacramento State students with a radio-broadcasting learning experience. KSSU is run in its entirety by Sacramento State students. Our main goals are to improve campus community involvement and awareness through the dissemination of information on campus news and events, to provide air-time to involved Dj's to express their ideas and views, and to provide an outlet for alternative and culturally diverse musical formats not readily available in Sacramento. Our programming line-up includes a mix of new and old music in every genre, including but not limited to Hip Hop, World Music, Loud Rock, Electronica, Rock, Alternative Rock and Indie. Our Overnight and Weekend program features the best new music currently charted in the famed CMJ (College Music Journal). Please see our schedule for more detailed programming information.
